The most formative years of my faith were during my time in college at Penn State. As soon as I arrived on campus, I got involved in Reformed University Fellowship (RUF), the campus ministry of the Presbyterian Church in America (PCA), because of the recommendation of a family friend who also happens to be an NPC member. There were large group meetings on campus on Thursdays, Bible studies, and rides to Oakwood Presbyterian Church on Sundays. The RUF campus minister was Alex Watlington from Lookout Mountain, GA, and he and his wife, Becki, welcomed me into their home. Through Alex and RUF, I learned the importance of Christian community, involvement in the local church, a desire to study scripture and theology, and to enjoy and appreciate hymns. I also made friendships that would last a lifetime – most notably, my wife!
