Living the dream, I was living the dream. I was raised in a Christian home and was born to loving parents and grandparents. I professed faith in Jesus Christ at age 11. I fell in love with my High School sweetheart, the class valedictorian. We went to college together, graduated, married, and moved to Kansas to take jobs with the same company, all within one week. Both of us were followers of Jesus Christ. Life was good, very good. The next big step was to try to have children, and God immediately blessed us with pregnancy. All went well until the day of our daughter’s birth. Then, we were tested. Our daughter was born with a major birth defect that would result in a permanent handicapping condition. The bottom fell out of our world, but God was steadfast and remained with us. Today, our daughter, although in a wheelchair, is in her 30’s. She is happy, a college graduate, has a career, and is married to a wonderful husband. Best of all, both she and her husband are Christians. Although faith may be tested, He will never leave you nor forsake you. God is good all the time.
